Dubai is all set to host the next World Expo between October 2020 and April 2021- The Dubai Expo 2020!
The Expo 2020 is destined to be one of the greatest spectacular shows on Earth bringing together an international audience of 25 million from more than 180 nations across the world. The Expo spread across a 438-hectare site, will offer visitors and tourists a golden opportunity to merge with global cultures; a glimpse of spectacular architecture, explore inspiring exhibitions; and enjoy gourmet cuisine from multiple corners of the globe.
Dubai is ranked as the most innovation-driven economy amongst all the Emirates. As one of the most innovative and vibrant travel hubs in the world, Dubai strongly supports tourism and have always regarded it as a fundamental and important pillar of its economy. Dubai touched an important milestone in its growth by bagging the bid to host the first ever World EXPO taking place in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region. The Expo 2020 is expected to serve as a catalyst to boost the economy & tourism sector of the region.
The Expo 2020 will be held for 6 months in Dubai and will open new doors for innovation, mutual aid, best trade practices, and most importantly, market growth. The tourism sector is expected to see a phenomenal impact along with other sectors like hospitality, real estate, transport, retail, and banking.
Dubai is already a prime tourist center attracting 10 million visitors per year with its stunning architecture, unbeaten infrastructure facilities, and awesome cultural and heritage sites. With the arrival of World Expo 2020, number of tourists is anticipated to rise by 25 to 30 million.
This will give rise to the launch of world-class hospitality, leisure and entertainment establishments. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing has already started working in collaboration with many of its tourism partners in Government and private sectors to improve the infrastructure.
