Seoul: Mohsin bin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, is leading a group of government and business agencies from Oman on a trip to the Republic of South Korea.

The purpose of the visit is to improve the Sultanate of Oman’s investments in green hydrogen, oil, gas, and minerals in the country, as well as to talk to government officials and senior company representatives about the possibilities for building up the value chain in the country.

During his trip to the Republic of South Korea, Al Hadhrami met with a number of government officials and people from the private sector. He talked with them about opportunities in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen production, transportation and storage projects between the two countries, and finding ways to meet economic and environmental goals.

During the trip, there were also a number of business talks with big Korean companies like Samsung, Hyundai, Posco, and SK. These companies wanted to invest in green hydrogen, oil, gas, and minerals in Oman.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals said that the visit is about making green hydrogen.

He said that the Ministry of Energy and Minerals has come up with an ambitious plan to make sure that a green hydrogen economy grows. They are also working to promote this sector because it will help diversify energy sources and cut carbon emissions so that the country can become carbon neutral.

He also said that it was a good chance for Omani and foreign companies to work together and help support energy security on a local and global scale and help the economy become more diverse.

Through the “Hydrom” platform for Oman Hydrogen, the Ministry of Energy and Minerals is already giving people the chance to invest in green hydrogen generation projects.

He said that the Ministry is working with its partners in the sector to strengthen the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a pioneering, reliable, and competitive player in the global energy sector and to improve national capabilities by supporting national innovation, bringing industry and advanced technologies in the field to Oman, and building national skills through the development of the renewable energy and hydrogen sectors.

He said that these visits are part of a plan to promote renewable energy and clean hydrogen on a large scale.
