Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) released preliminary figures showing that the Sultanate of Oman exported a total of 128,070,300 barrels by the end of May 2023, with an average oil barrel price of $81.

Eighty percent of the 160,144,300 barrels of oil produced overall were exported.

During the same time period, crude oil production rose by 0.7% to 125,757,600 barrels. In comparison to the same period in 2022, condensate production increased by 5.6% up through the end of May 2023, reaching 34,386,700 barrels. Up until the end of May 2023, there were 1,060,600 barrels of oil produced on a daily average.

With total exports of 117,120,500 barrels, China led the list of nations importing Oman’s oil, followed by Japan with 4,783,500 barrels. Next, with 2,716,200 barrels, was India. The number of barrels exported to foreign nations was 3.450 million.

During this time, Oman’s gas production (including imports) increased by 3.9% to 21,833.1 million cubic meters by the end of May 2023 from 21,004.9 million cubic meters during the same period in 2022.

Up until the end of May 2023, industrial projects consumed 60.2% of all natural gas. 13,163.1 million cubic meters of gas were used for industrial projects.

5,580.5 million cubic meters of gas were consumed for oil fields, 2,977.7 million cubic meters for power plants, and 111.8 million cubic meters for industrial regions.

In total, 17,469.9 million cubic meters of gas were produced outside of related activities (including imports). Production of associated gas totaled 4,369.1 million cubic meters.
