Residency drives the account
Corporate Bank Account Support in Saudi Arabia
In Saudi Arabia the account usually waits on the general manager’s residency, not on the bank.
GCC business setup specialists
The manager’s residence permit is the real gate
Saudi banks generally expect the authorised signatory to hold a valid residence permit and a national identity record, with the company’s registered details matching across the commercial register, the national address and the tax and social insurance registrations. In practice the account therefore follows the manager’s immigration file, which is why an account promised before the visa is a promise nobody can keep.
- Account sequenced realistically against the manager’s residency
- Registered details reconciled across every record first
- A file prepared so nothing invites a query

What has to line up
Prerequisites a Saudi bank checks
Mismatches stall more applications than refusals do.
| Item | What the bank expects |
|---|---|
| Authorised signatory | A valid residence permit and identity record. |
| Commercial register | Current, with the activity matching the business. |
| National address | Registered and consistent with other records. |
| Tax registration | In place and matching the entity details. |
| Social insurance file | Opened where staff are employed. |
| Investment licence | Current, for foreign-owned entities. |
Bank requirements, identity and residency rules and registration records are set by the authorities and the banks and change. Onboarding decisions rest entirely with the bank.

Commercial register, national address, licence, tax and social insurance details checked against one another and corrected first.
Complete the manager’s file

Questions
Saudi banking — FAQs
Why does the account depend on the manager’s residency?
Because banks generally expect the authorised signatory to hold a valid residence permit and identity record. Until that exists, the application cannot complete.
Can I open an account before the visa is issued?
Generally no. Anyone promising an account before the manager’s residency is in place is promising something outside their control.
What stalls applications most often?
Inconsistency — an activity on the register that does not match the business, a national address not updated, or entity details differing between records.
Can you guarantee an account?
No, and nobody can. We reconcile the records, sequence the steps correctly and prepare the file properly.
Does a foreign-owned entity face more scrutiny?
The investment licence adds a document rather than an obstacle. The practical constraints are the signatory’s residency and record consistency.
