Investor & Employee Immigration in Oman
Omani work visas run through labour clearance before immigration, and clearance depends on your Omanisation standing.

Labour clearance comes first
Companies expect to apply for a visa for a named person. In practice labour clearance comes first and depends on the company’s Omanisation position — which is why hiring plans and localisation are one conversation.
- Clearance planned against Omanisation
- Visa and resident card tracked to expiry
- Direct with the authorities
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

How it fits together
From registration to resident card
Each stage depends on the company’s standing.
| Stage | What it involves |
|---|---|
| Employer registration | The company registered with labour and social insurance authorities. |
| Omanisation standing | Your position against sector targets, affecting clearance. |
| Labour clearance | Permission to recruit a foreign employee for a role. |
| Employment visa | Issued to the named employee against clearance. |
| Medical and entry | Medical testing and entry on the visa. |
| Resident card | Residency issued and renewed on its own cycle. |
Visa categories, clearance rules and Omanisation targets are set by the Omani authorities and change. Your position is confirmed against current requirements.

Questions
Oman visas and residency — FAQs
Can I hire anyone I want?
Not without regard to Omanisation. Your standing against sector targets affects labour clearance, so hiring mix and visa planning are one decision.
What is labour clearance?
Permission to recruit a foreign employee for a role, obtained before the visa. It is where Omanisation bites in practice.
Can employees bring family?
Dependant sponsorship is available subject to conditions, and documents generally need attesting.
What happens if an employee leaves?
Their visa and sponsorship must be resolved properly. Leaving it unresolved creates problems for both parties.
Do investors get residency?
Routes exist for investors and company owners with their own criteria. We assess your circumstances rather than assuming.
