Low, but not nil
Corporate Tax Registration & Returns in Singapore
Singapore corporate tax is low and predictable, with exemptions that materially reduce the bill for smaller companies.

Attractive, and still a filing obligation
Singapore applies a single headline corporate tax rate with partial exemptions and start-up relief that significantly reduce the effective rate for smaller companies. None of that removes the obligation to compute, declare and file on time.
- Exemptions and reliefs applied properly
- Estimated chargeable income filed on time
- Foreign income position assessed rather than assumed

What applies
Singapore tax obligations
Which apply depends on your income, size and sources.
| Obligation | Who it affects | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Corporate tax return | All companies | Prepare the computation and file with IRAS |
| Estimated chargeable income | Most companies after year end | Prepare and submit within the window |
| Partial tax exemption | Qualifying companies | Apply correctly to the computation |
| Start-up tax exemption | Qualifying new companies | Assess eligibility and apply |
| Foreign-sourced income | Companies with overseas income | Assess the remittance and exemption position |
| Withholding tax | Payments to non-residents | Identify, withhold and file |
Rates, exemption thresholds, reliefs and deadlines are set by IRAS and change. Your position is confirmed against current rules in writing before filing.

Questions
Singapore corporate tax — FAQs
What is the corporate tax rate?
Singapore applies a single headline rate with partial exemptions, and qualifying new companies may access start-up relief. Rates and thresholds are set by IRAS and change, so we confirm the figures applying to your period.
Is foreign income taxed?
Foreign-sourced income can be taxed on remittance, with exemptions available where conditions are met. It is assessed rather than assumed.
Is there capital gains tax?
Singapore does not generally tax capital gains, though whether a gain is capital or revenue in nature is a question of fact.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Penalties apply and escalate, and estimated assessments can be raised. Deadlines are tracked from engagement.
Do I still file if the company made a loss?
Yes. Filing obligations apply regardless, and losses may be available to carry forward if properly declared.
