The parent registered here
Foreign Company Branch Registration in Mauritius
A Mauritius branch is the parent operating here. It is taxed on Mauritius-source income and gets no treaty access.

Rarely what groups actually want
A branch avoids forming a new company, but it brings none of the advantages that usually bring investors to Mauritius. No treaty access, parent liability, and parent particulars on the register. For most groups a subsidiary is the better answer.
- Honest comparison against a subsidiary
- Registration and parent filings handled
- Tax consequences explained before you commit
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

What registration involves
The shape of a Mauritius branch
Most groups reconsider once they see the tax position.

| Typical fit | A local operating presence rather than a structuring vehicle. |
A Global Business Company must be administered by a management company licensed by the Financial Services Commission, and an Authorised Company must have a licensed registered agent. That is a statutory requirement in Mauritius. We co-ordinate your engagement with a licensed Mauritian management company and manage the process end to end; the regulated filings are made by them.

Questions
Mauritius branch registration — FAQs
Why would I choose a branch over a subsidiary?
Occasionally for simplicity where you simply need a local operating presence. If treaty access or liability separation matters, a subsidiary is almost always better.
Does a branch get treaty access?
No. Treaty access requires a resident Global Business Company with substance.
Is the parent liable?
Yes. That is the central difference from a subsidiary.
What is filed publicly?
Parent particulars including constitutional documents and directors are filed with the Registrar.
Can a branch employ staff?
Yes, with the usual employer obligations including social contributions.
