Cyprus Company Incorporation

An EU jurisdiction

Cyprus Company Incorporation

Cyprus is an EU member state with a low corporate rate. Both halves of that sentence matter.

GCC business setup specialists

EU membership is the real distinction

Cyprus offers a low corporate tax rate, but what distinguishes it from offshore alternatives is that it is inside the European Union, with access to EU directives and the single market, and subject to EU anti-avoidance rules. That combination is the reason to use it, and the reason substance is expected rather than optional.

  • Substance expectations explained before you incorporate
  • Tax residence by management and control addressed properly
  • Audit and reporting obligations stated up front

02

Incorporate

03

Set up compliance

Tax and VAT registrations, auditor appointment, beneficial ownership filing and the annual calendar established.

Questions

Cyprus company incorporation — FAQs

Why use Cyprus rather than an offshore jurisdiction?

Because it is inside the European Union, which affects market access, banking acceptance and how structures are viewed. That is the substantive difference, not the tax rate alone.

Is a Cyprus company automatically tax resident there?

No. Residence turns on management and control, so where the directors are and where decisions are actually taken matters. It is evidenced, not asserted.

Is an audit required?

Audited financial statements are required and filed, which is a real recurring cost even for a small or dormant company. We state it up front.

Does EU anti-avoidance law affect my structure?

Yes. EU measures including anti-abuse and substance tests apply, so a structure without genuine activity is unlikely to achieve what it was created for.

Do I need advice in my own country?

Almost always. Cypriot advice alone does not settle how the structure is treated where you are resident, and we co-ordinate rather than opine on that law.
