Accounting & Bookkeeping in Kuwait

Accounting & Bookkeeping in Kuwait

Kuwaiti reporting runs on audited statements, and for contractors the accounts directly unlock withheld cash.

Your accounts release your money

Where a company works under contracts subject to the tax retention, a portion of every payment is held back until a tax clearance is obtained — and that clearance depends on filed, audited accounts and a settled tax position. Bookkeeping here is therefore not just compliance: it is what converts retained receivables into cash. Companies that let the books slip leave money with their customers.

  • Books kept to an audit-ready standard throughout the year
  • Reporting aligned to the tax clearance you need
  • Arabic and bilingual record requirements handled

Questions

Kuwait accounting — FAQs

Is an audit required in Kuwait?

Audited financial statements are generally required, prepared by a locally registered auditor, which is why the books must be audit-ready throughout the year.

Why do my accounts affect my cash?

Because tax clearance — which releases amounts retained from your contract payments — depends on filed, audited accounts and a settled tax position.

Do records need to be in Arabic?

Arabic requirements apply to certain records and filings. We set out what applies to your company and keep records accordingly.

Who can audit a Kuwaiti company?

An auditor registered to practise locally. We co-ordinate the appointment early rather than in the closing weeks.

What if previous years were never done?

We assess the gap and quote the catch-up work. Where retentions are outstanding, that work usually pays for itself.
