Digital portal, physical attestation
Company Documents & Attestation in Bahrain
Bahrain’s registration is largely online, but foreign corporate documents still need a physical attestation chain.

The portal does not shorten attestation
Because Sijilat accepts uploads, people assume the whole process is digital. The company filing is; the parent’s documents are not. They still require legalisation through authorities in the country of origin, certification in Bahrain and then certified Arabic translation, in that order. A document translated before final legalisation has to be started again.
- Attestation chain confirmed for each country of origin
- Translation sequenced after legalisation, never before
- One prepared set used across registration, permits and banking
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

What is needed
The Bahraini document set
Corporate papers are the slow part.
| Document | Who provides it | Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Certificate of incorporation | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Constitutional documents | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Board resolution | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Power of attorney | Shareholders | Legalised, then translated |
| Passport copies | All individuals | Uploaded; originals sighted |
| Identity credential | Resident directors and managers | Issued locally, needed for portal access |
Attestation chains differ by country of origin and change. We confirm the exact sequence before any document is sent anywhere. Most Bahraini commercial registration work runs through Sijilat, the Ministry’s online portal, which makes the mechanics faster than in neighbouring states — but it also means an application is assessed on what you entered, so the activity description and supporting documents have to be right the first time.
How it works
Getting documents ready
Sequence beats speed every time.
Checklist and sequence
Precisely which documents are needed, and the attestation chain for each country they come from.
Legalise, certify, translate
Documents legalised abroad, certified in Bahrain and then translated into Arabic — strictly in that order.
Upload and reuse
The completed set uploaded to the portal and reused for registration, activation, permits and banking without redoing anything.

Questions
Bahrain documents and attestation — FAQs
If registration is online, why does attestation take weeks?
Because the portal only handles the Bahraini filing. The parent’s documents still pass through authorities in their own country first, and that is outside the portal entirely.
Can I translate the documents while legalisation is pending?
No. Translation must follow final legalisation. Doing it early is the most common reason a document has to be redone.
Does the chain differ by country?
Considerably. We confirm the exact sequence for each country your documents originate in before anything is dispatched.
Do passports need attestation?
Generally copies suffice with originals sighted. The full chain applies to corporate documents.
Why do I need a local identity credential?
Portal transactions require it for the manager or authorised signatory, and obtaining it is a step people discover late.
