Investor & Employee Immigration in Bahrain
Bahraini work permits are issued to the employer for the employee, and your Bahrainisation standing affects what you can obtain.

The employer holds the permit
Work permits are issued through the labour authority to the employer, and the company’s standing against Bahrainisation targets affects how many it can hold. Hiring plans and localisation are therefore one conversation.
- Permits planned against Bahrainisation
- Residence and dependants handled together
- Direct with the labour authority
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

How it fits together
From registration to residence permit
Each stage depends on the company’s standing.
| Stage | What it involves |
|---|---|
| Employer registration | Registration with the labour authority and social insurance. |
| Bahrainisation standing | Your position against sector targets, affecting permit allocation. |
| Work permit | Issued to the employer for a named employee. |
| Entry and medical | Entry on the permit and medical testing. |
| Residence permit | Residency issued and renewed on its own cycle. |
| Dependants | Sponsored once the employee’s residence is in place. |
Permit categories, Bahrainisation targets and processing are set by the Bahraini authorities and change. Your position is confirmed against current requirements.

Questions
Bahrain visas and permits — FAQs
Who holds the work permit?
The employer. Permits are issued through the labour authority to the company for a named employee, which is why the company’s standing matters.
How many permits can I get?
It depends on your Bahrainisation standing and sector. We confirm before you make offers rather than after.
Can employees bring family?
Dependant sponsorship is available subject to conditions, once the employee’s residence is in place.
What happens if an employee leaves?
Their permit and sponsorship must be resolved properly. Leaving it unresolved creates problems for both parties.
Do investors get residency?
Routes exist for investors and company owners with their own criteria. We assess your circumstances rather than assuming.
