Two workstreams, one deadline
Company Documents & Attestation in Kuwait
Kuwait requires foreign documents legalised abroad and local articles notarised here. They run in parallel.
GCC business setup specialists
Foreign legalisation and local notarisation are different jobs
One stream takes your parent company’s documents through authorities in their own country and the Kuwaiti diplomatic chain, then into certified Arabic. The other drafts the articles of association and takes them before a notary in Kuwait. Both must be complete before registration, and people routinely start the second while forgetting the first takes several weeks longer.
- Legalisation chain confirmed for each country of origin
- Articles drafted in parallel so neither stream waits
- Translation sequenced after legalisation, never before
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

What is needed
The two document streams
Foreign papers and the local articles.
| Document | Source | Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Articles of association | Drafted in Kuwait | Notarised locally |
| Certificate of incorporation | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Constitutional documents | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Board resolution | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Power of attorney | Shareholders | Legalised, then translated |
| Civil identification | Resident manager | Issued locally, after residency |
Legalisation chains differ by country of origin and change. We confirm the exact sequence before any document is dispatched.

Questions
Kuwait documents and attestation — FAQs
Why are there two document streams?
Because foreign corporate documents must be legalised abroad, while the company’s own articles are drafted and notarised in Kuwait. Both must finish before registration.
Which stream takes longer?
The foreign one, almost always, because it passes through several authorities outside Kuwait. Start it before anything else.
Can I translate while legalisation is pending?
No. Translation follows final legalisation. Doing it early is the usual reason a document must be redone.
Do passports need legalising?
Generally copies suffice with originals sighted. The chain applies to corporate documents.
When does the manager get civil identification?
After residency is granted, which is why the manager’s immigration file sits on the critical path for banking and other transactions.
