Attestation sets the clock
Company Setup Timeline & Process in Qatar
Qatar registration moves reasonably quickly. Attestation of foreign documents and approvals are what take time.

The filing is not the bottleneck
Reserving a name and issuing a commercial registration are measured in days. Legalising parent company documents abroad, obtaining foreign investment and sector approvals, and opening a bank account are measured in weeks. Any quote that gives one number is describing only the easy part.
- Realistic dates for attestation, approvals and banking
- Document list issued on day one
- You hear immediately when something slips
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

Stage by stage
Where the time goes
Attestation and approvals dominate.
| Stage | What has to happen | What makes it slow |
|---|---|---|
| Regime decision | Mainland, QFC or free zone | Indecision about clients and tax |
| Attestation | Parent documents legalised abroad | The main bottleneck |
| Name and articles | Reserved and prepared | Restricted words and Arabic form |
| Approvals | Foreign investment and sector approvals | On the authority’s timetable |
| Registration and licence | Commercial registration and trade licence | Premises and tenancy |
| Bank account | Onboarding with its own due diligence | Slow, and least certain |
Timelines depend on attestation abroad, authority assessment and the bank involved. We give a realistic range and flag slippage promptly.
How we run it
Three stages, overlapped
Attestation starts on day one.
Decide and start attestation
Regime settled and the document list issued immediately, because legalisation abroad gates everything else.
Approve and register
Name reserved, articles prepared, approvals pursued and commercial registration and trade licence obtained.
Operate
Establishment card, bank file, tax registration and employer file completed, with visas following.

Questions
Qatar timeline — FAQs
How long does a Qatar company take?
Registration itself is reasonably quick. Attestation of parent documents and approvals are what determine when you can actually operate.
What is the biggest cause of delay?
Attestation done in the wrong order, or translation completed before final legalisation, which means redoing that document.
Can approvals run in parallel?
Often yes, and that is how we compress timelines. Some are strictly sequential.
When can I apply for visas?
After the establishment card is issued, which follows registration. We sequence it so staffing is not delayed unnecessarily.
Can you guarantee a date?
No. Attestation abroad, authority approvals and bank decisions are outside anyone’s control. We give a realistic range and flag slippage immediately.
