Export oriented, land constrained
Manufacturing & Industrial Setup in Seychelles
Seychelles manufacturing is export oriented by necessity. Land and environmental approval are the binding constraints.

Land and environment decide feasibility
The domestic market is small, so most manufacturing here is for export, often through the International Trade Zone. What determines whether a project happens is site availability, the restriction on non-Seychellois acquiring property, and environmental authorisation. Those should be settled before anything else.
- Feasibility assessed on land and environment first
- Trade Zone and investment concessions evaluated
- Honest about freight and input costs
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

What is involved
Establishing manufacturing in Seychelles
Several approvals, in sequence.
| Element | What it involves |
|---|---|
| Company and licence | Vehicle plus a trade licence for the activity. |
| International Trade Zone | Separate licensing for processing and re-export. |
| Site and land | Availability, and restriction on non-Seychellois acquisition. |
| Environmental authorisation | Required for certain categories of activity. |
| Investment concessions | Available under investment policy for qualifying projects. |
| Workforce | Permits needed where staff are foreign. |
Trade Zone licensing, concessions, property restrictions and environmental thresholds change. All are checked for your project. An International Business Company must at all times have a registered agent licensed by the Financial Services Authority. That is a statutory requirement in Seychelles. We co-ordinate your engagement with a licensed Seychelles registered agent and manage the process end to end; the regulated filings are made by them.

Questions
Seychelles manufacturing setup — FAQs
Is manufacturing viable in Seychelles?
For export-oriented and niche production, and particularly through the International Trade Zone, yes. For large-scale local-market manufacturing the domestic market is small.
Can a foreign investor acquire industrial land?
Acquisition of immovable property by non-Seychellois requires government sanction. Leasing is often the practical route.
What is the biggest constraint?
Site availability and environmental authorisation, followed by freight cost on inputs. Incorporation is not the bottleneck.
Are there investment incentives?
Concessions are available for qualifying projects under investment policy. We assess whether yours qualifies rather than assuming it does.
Should I use the Trade Zone?
If you are processing and re-exporting rather than selling locally, it is usually the right route. We assess both.
