Manufacturing & Industrial Setup in Singapore

High value, high cost

Manufacturing & Industrial Setup in Singapore

Singapore manufactures at the high-value end. For volume production, the honest answer is usually elsewhere in the region.

GCC business setup specialists

Precision yes, volume rarely

Singapore has a genuine advanced manufacturing base in electronics, pharmaceuticals and precision engineering, supported by incentives. Land and labour costs mean commodity or volume production generally belongs elsewhere, with Singapore as the headquarters.

  • Honest about what Singapore suits
  • Industrial premises and approvals mapped
  • Incentive routes flagged where genuinely relevant

What is realistic

Manufacturing models involving Singapore

Most volume production sits outside Singapore.

Industrial premises, agency approvals and incentive schemes in Singapore are specific and change. Production outside Singapore is subject to that jurisdiction’s rules, on which we do not advise.

How it works

Structuring it properly

The first question is where production actually belongs.

01

Establish the model

What is made, where it will physically be produced, and what the Singapore entity will actually do.

02

Premises and approvals

Where production is here, industrial premises identified and agency approvals mapped against the process.

03

Incorporate and operate

Company incorporated, incentive routes explored where genuinely applicable, and operations set up.

Questions

Singapore manufacturing — FAQs

Can I manufacture in Singapore?

Yes, particularly at the advanced or precision end where the ecosystem and incentives support it. For volume production, costs usually point elsewhere and we will say so.

What is the usual model?

A Singapore entity holding IP, contracting and managing, with production carried out elsewhere in the region.

Are there incentives?

Schemes exist for qualifying activities and investments, generally aimed at substantive operations. We signpost them rather than promising eligibility.

Do you set up the production side?

No. We handle the Singapore entity and co-ordinate with advisers in the production jurisdiction.

Do I need industrial premises?

Only if production actually happens here. A contracting and IP-holding entity needs a registered office, not a factory.
