How do I know if my activity needs an approval?
We check at activity-mapping stage, before anything is filed. Fields touching health, education, finance, food, transport, security and media almost always do, and the list is longer than most founders expect.
How long do approvals take?
They run on the approving body’s timetable, not ours, and premises-related approvals usually involve an inspection. We give you a realistic range at the outset rather than an optimistic one.
Can I start trading while an approval is pending?
No. Where an activity requires approval, trading without it exposes the company to penalties and can jeopardise the licence itself.
What if an approval is refused?
Usually there is a condition to meet rather than a flat refusal — a premises change, a qualification, a document. We tell you what it would take, and what it would cost, before you decide.
Do approvals need renewing?
Many do, on their own cycle, separate from the trade licence. We put them on the same calendar as your renewal so neither is missed.
