Paid, protected, recorded
Payroll & Employer Compliance in Saudi Arabia
Saudi payroll is monitored. Salaries are paid through a protected channel and the data is visible to the authorities.

Payroll is reported, not just paid
Wage protection means salary payments are evidenced to the authorities rather than sitting between you and your bank. Late or inconsistent payment surfaces quickly, and it affects the company’s standing rather than only the employee.
- Salaries paid through the protected channel on time
- GOSI treated correctly for each employee
- End-of-service accrued monthly, not discovered

What we run
The Saudi payroll cycle
These apply from the first employee.
| Element | What it involves | Rhythm |
|---|---|---|
| Salary calculation | Basic, allowances, overtime, deductions and unpaid leave | Monthly |
| Wage protection | Payment through the required channel, evidenced to the authorities | Monthly |
| GOSI contributions | Calculated and remitted, with treatment differing by nationality | Monthly |
| Payslips | An itemised record issued to each employee | Monthly |
| End-of-service accrual | Entitlement carried in the accounts as it builds | Monthly |
| Final settlement | Calculated when employment ends, including accruals | On exit |
Wage protection requirements, GOSI rates and end-of-service calculations are set by the Saudi authorities and change. What applies to you is confirmed in writing.
How it works
Setting payroll up and running it
The setup month is where compliance is won.
Set up

Run monthly
Salaries calculated, payments prepared for approval through the protected channel, payslips issued, GOSI remitted and end-of-service accrued.
Handle exits
Final settlements calculated including accrued entitlements, with records kept so the calculation can be evidenced.

Questions
Saudi payroll — FAQs
What is wage protection?
A requirement that salaries are paid through an approved channel and evidenced to the authorities, within the period allowed. It makes late or inconsistent payment visible rather than private.
How does GOSI work?
Employers register and contribute for employees, with contribution treatment differing between Saudi nationals and expatriates. It applies from the first employee.
How is end-of-service calculated?
Based on length of service and salary components under the applicable rules. The important part is accruing it monthly so it is funded rather than met as a shock at an exit.
Do I need to issue payslips?
You should, and keep them. In a dispute the itemised record establishes what was paid and why, and its absence is almost always the employer’s problem.
Can you run payroll for one employee?
Yes. Most obligations apply from the first hire, which is when companies are least set up to meet them.
