The constitutive contract is notarised
Company Documents & Attestation in Oman
Oman requires the company’s founding document to be notarised, and foreign papers to be legalised through an embassy chain.
GCC business setup specialists
Two separate document workstreams
One is the foreign side: parent company papers legalised in their country of origin, then through the Omani diplomatic chain, then certified into Arabic. The other is the local side: the constitutive contract prepared and notarised, which is the document that actually brings the company into existence. They run in parallel, and the foreign side is always the longer one.
- Legalisation chain confirmed for each country of origin
- Translation sequenced after legalisation, never before
- Constitutive contract drafted for your actual arrangement

What is needed
The Omani document set
Foreign papers and the local contract.
| Document | Source | Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Constitutive contract | Prepared locally | Notarised |
| Certificate of incorporation | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Constitutional documents | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Board resolution | Corporate shareholder | Legalised, then translated |
| Power of attorney | Shareholders | Legalised, then translated |
| Passport and residence copies | Individuals | Uploaded; originals sighted |
Legalisation chains differ by country of origin and change. We confirm the exact sequence before any document is dispatched. Omani registration runs through the Invest Easy one-stop system, which consolidates several authorities behind one application without removing the approvals themselves.
How it works
Getting documents ready
Start the foreign side on day one.
Checklist and sequence
Exactly which foreign documents are needed and the legalisation chain for each country they originate in.
Legalise, then translate
Documents legalised abroad and through the diplomatic chain, then certified into Arabic — strictly in that order.
Draft and notarise
The constitutive contract prepared to reflect your actual shareholder arrangement, then notarised and filed.

Questions
Oman documents and attestation — FAQs
What is the constitutive contract?
The founding document of an Omani company, setting out shareholders, capital, activity and management. It is notarised, and it should reflect your actual arrangement rather than a template.
Why does legalisation take so long?
Because it passes through authorities in the country of origin and then the Omani diplomatic chain, each with its own processing time, before translation can begin.
Can I translate while legalisation is pending?
No. Translation follows final legalisation. Doing it early is the most common reason a document must be redone.
Do passports need legalisation?
Generally copies suffice with originals sighted. The full chain applies to corporate documents.
What if a document is rejected?
Usually the chain was incomplete, translation preceded legalisation, or the document has expired. We identify the failure point and fix that step only.
