The hardest part, by far
Business Bank Account Support in the United States
Forming a US company takes hours. Getting it a bank account as a non-resident owner can take months, or fail.

Identification rules, not policy, are the obstacle
US banks operate under customer identification requirements obliging them to verify beneficial owners, and most satisfy that by seeing people in person. For an owner who cannot travel, that closes the door at a great many institutions regardless of how good the business is. Financial technology providers have filled part of the gap, with narrower services and their own acceptance criteria. Anyone promising a US account remotely and quickly is overpromising.

Compare the routes
Ways to bank a US company
Travel is the dividing factor.
| Route | Suits | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| National bank, in person | Owners able to travel | Full services; usually requires attendance |
| Regional or community bank | Owners with a local connection | Varies widely by institution |
| Financial technology provider | Non-resident owners | Narrower services; own acceptance criteria |
| Bank with a presence in your country | Existing relationship holders | Sometimes the most realistic route |
| Payment processor only | Online sellers | Not a substitute for a bank account |
| Merchant facility | Card-taking businesses | A separate application again |
Account opening decisions and identification requirements rest entirely with the institution and change. No adviser can guarantee an account, and financial technology providers are not banks and protect funds differently.

Questions
US business banking — FAQs
Can I open a US bank account without visiting?
Sometimes, through financial technology providers or a bank where you have an existing relationship. Most national banks expect attendance in person, and that is the usual blocker.
Why do banks insist on seeing me?
Customer identification requirements oblige them to verify beneficial owners, and in-person verification is how most institutions discharge that for non-residents.
Are fintech accounts the same as a bank account?
No. They offer narrower services and protect funds differently, and acceptance criteria vary. We explain the trade-offs rather than presenting them as equivalent.
Do I need the tax identification number first?
In practice yes. Obtaining it is the step before any account application, and for owners without a US social security number it takes longer.
Can you guarantee an account?
No, and nobody can. We assess your prospects honestly, prepare the file properly and tell you if the realistic answer is no.
