Light paperwork, strict identity checks
Incorporation Documents in Hong Kong
Hong Kong asks for far less paperwork than the Gulf. What it does ask for is solid identity evidence.

The opposite of a GCC file
There is usually no attestation chain, no legalisation and no Arabic translation. What matters instead is identity verification, which the licensed service provider must complete to a standard set by anti-money-laundering rules.
- Document list specific to your structure
- Identity verification handled properly
- No invented attestation requirements
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

What is needed
The Hong Kong document set
Short, but the identity checks are real.
| Item | Who it applies to | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Passport copy | Every director, shareholder and controller | Certified where required |
| Proof of address | Every director, shareholder and controller | Recent, and in the individual’s name |
| Identity verification | All of the above | Completed by the licensed provider |
| Corporate documents | Corporate shareholders | Certificate of incorporation and constitution |
| Certified translation | Documents not in English or Chinese | Rather than legalisation |
| Board resolution | Corporate shareholders | Approving the Hong Kong entity |
Identity verification standards are set by anti-money-laundering rules and are applied by the licensed provider. Company secretarial and registered office services in Hong Kong must be provided by a licensed trust or company service provider. We co-ordinate your engagement with a licensed Hong Kong provider and manage the process end to end; the regulated filings are made by them.

Questions
Hong Kong documents — FAQs
Do I need attestation or legalisation?
Usually not. This is one of the sharpest differences from the GCC. Certified copies and, where needed, certified translations are generally sufficient.
Why is identity verification so thorough?
Because the licensed provider is subject to anti-money-laundering obligations and must verify controllers to a prescribed standard.
Do documents need to be in English?
English or Chinese. Documents in another language generally need a certified translation.
Can I complete this remotely?
Usually yes. Verification can often be completed remotely, though requirements vary by provider and profile.
What if a document is queried?
Usually the address proof is too old or the name does not match the passport exactly. We tell you precisely what to replace.
