General requirements to set up the laundry business in Dubai

• Install No Smoking signs at the entrance.
• Prohibit sleeping and cooking in the laundry’s working area.
• Ensure prominent display of emergency contact numbers.
• Keep the cloth used for ironing clean at all times.
• Avoid storing food products in the working area.
• Maintain general cleanliness in various areas such as below the ironing tables, drawers, cabinets, under the sink, corners of the wall, the pantry area, curtains, exhausts, the work area, washrooms, etc.
• Avoid placing chairs, sofas, and curtains made from non-absorbent substances inside the working area.
• Perform consistent checks and care for machines and rollers used for pressing long sheets. Store laundry chemicals in a separate room, clearly identifying them as harsh, flammable, and incompatible chemicals.
• A delivery van is a compulsory requirement for starting a laundry business in Dubai.

Laundary Business Registration Process

• Submit the passport and visa copies of the investing partners.
• Decide on the name of your laundry business and submit it to the DED for approval.
• Once the DED approves it, draft and sign the Memorandum of Association, or have a local service agent complete this process.
• Rent a space as per the required infrastructure standards of the DED and make an agreement with the tenant.
• Obtain the tenancy contract along with the Ejari number.
• Get approval from the Dubai Municipality Planning Section.
• Get approval from the Health and Safety Division of the Dubai Municipality.
• Submit all the above documents to the DED and get your license.
