Two routes out of Bahrain
Trademark & Brand Registration in Bahrain
Bahrain applies the GCC trademark framework and is reachable through the international Madrid system.

The international route is the practical difference
A national filing protects you in Bahrain only. Because Bahrain participates in the international registration system, a single application can be extended to a list of other member countries, which for a brand trading across several markets is usually cheaper and simpler than separate national filings. Which route suits depends on where you actually trade, and that is the first conversation.
- National against international route assessed on your markets
- Classes chosen for what you sell, not what you might
- Search completed before any fee is spent
Mainland, free zone and offshore jurisdictions we file in — so the recommendation is based on your activity, not on which authority we happen to be registered with.

Ways to protect a brand from Bahrain
Where you trade decides which is cheaper.
| Route | What it covers | When it suits |
|---|---|---|
| National filing | Bahrain only | Bahrain is your only market |
| International application | A chosen list of member countries | Trading across several markets |
| Separate national filings | Each country individually | Non-member or sensitive markets |
| Multiple classes | Each class of goods or services | Most businesses need more than one |
| Series or variant marks | Related forms of a mark | Logos used in several versions |
| Arabic form of the mark | The Arabic version as used | Where you market in Arabic |
Classification, examination, publication and opposition procedures are set by the registry and change, and the GCC framework is applied nationally. Coverage in other countries depends on their own rules.
How it works
From search to certificate
The search decides whether to spend anything at all.
Search and scope
The register searched for conflicts, classes identified for what you sell, and the national or international route recommended.
File
Application filed in the chosen route and classes, in the form you actually use the mark, including Arabic where you use it.
Through to registration
Examination answered, publication monitored and the opposition window followed through to certificate.

Questions
Bahrain trademark registration — FAQs
Should I file nationally or internationally?
If Bahrain is your only market, nationally. If you trade across several countries, a single international application designating them is usually cheaper and easier to manage.
Does a Bahraini registration cover the GCC?
No. Bahrain applies the GCC framework nationally, but protection in another state requires a filing covering that state.
Should I register the Arabic mark too?
If you market in Arabic, yes. The Latin and Arabic forms are different marks in practice.
How many classes do I need?
As many as cover what you actually sell. Each carries its own fee, and filing too narrowly is the common error.
What happens during opposition?
After publication there is a window in which third parties may object. We monitor it and advise if anything is filed against you.
